چکیده

Relation between manual and automatic values nine serum samples by both the classical manual method of WARREN and by the proposed automatic method. The results are shown in table 1 and figure 5. As can be seen, the Autoanalyzer method gives consistantly higher results by about 8%. This is most probably due to the incompleteness of the extraction of the coloured end product in the manual method. Finally, we checked the effect of the most probable source of interference, namely the blood glucose. No interference could be detected by the addition of up to 10 times the normal amount of glucose. This method has been in daily use in our laboratory for over a year and has been entirely satisfactory.

A Micromethod for the Determination of Sodium*

In view of the increasing importance of acid-base equilibrium and of the r81e of the inorganic elements in the body economy, the accurate determination of sodium in the blood and body fluids becomes of increasing importance. Barber and Kolthoff (1) in 1928 were the first to employ the triple salt, uranyl zinc sodium acetate, for the quantitative determination of sodium. They ascribed to t,his s...

Chloroquine Phosphate Metabolism and Gender-Based Phenotypic Analysis among Healthy Subjects’ Urine Following Oral Administration

The advent of chloroquine promising activity against the COVID-19 is novel and as such, it is imperative to thoroughly understand and determine the rate at which individual body systems handle the drug. Chloroquine a known antimalarial drug belongs to the chemical class of 4-aminoquinolines. The aim of the study was to analyze Chloroquine and its metabolite in biological fluids of healthy subje...

Micromethod for the Estimation of Plasma Fibrinogen.

Fibrinogen is quantitatively precipitated from plasma by 1.20 M phosphate buffer. The amount of precipitated fibrinogen is determined turbidimetrically at 450 m5. The method requires 0.25 ml. of plasma for the blank and sample. Reliability of the method has been established by comparison with an ammonium sulfate turbidimetric method and a colorimetric method, demonstration of specificity, varia...

Effect of Sodium Bicarbonate and Sodium Chloride on Renal and Hematologic Factors in Patients with Glucose-6-phosphate Dehydrogenase Deficiency

Background: Sodium bicarbonate serum therapy is used for compensation bicarbonate lost and increasing blood pH in metabolic acidosis caused by severe anemia in patient with glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) deficiency. The aim of present study was comparison the effect of serum therapy using two different serums (serum with bicarbonate and without bicarbonate) on some renal and hematolo...

Quantitative Studies of the Composition of Glomerular Urine

In view of existing evidence that inorganic phosphate of serum is capable of passing through membranes impermeable to protein, and in view of the increasing volume of evidence that glomerular urine has the composition of an ultrafiltrate, it is difficult to believe that part at least of the inorganic phosphate of urine is not excreted through the glomeruli. In compensation dialysis experiments,...
